If you are starting out in backpacking or car camping and need an easy way to heat up some water, look no further than the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set!

Why: Budget is one of the most important things when it comes to exploring the out of doors. One way to make your budget go further is to get multi use gear. Multi use gear is gear that works for any situation you may find yourself in. With the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set, you can throw it in the pack to boil water for a Mountain house meal or just as easily throw it on a camp stove on the back of the tailgate to heat up some water for coffee.
First Impressions:
Materials:
The Kettle is made of 18/8 stainless steel – providing a durable metal that is hard to damage, making this piece long lasting. The two insulated cups are made of plastic and perfect for hot beverages.
Size:
This Kettle is the perfect size for two people and fits into a pack perfectly. About the size of a Nalgene Bottle, it fits into the side pocket of backpack no problem. It is small and light enough to carry for a day or overnight trip and takes up no room in the back.

Weight:
With the Cups the Stanley Adventure Cam Cook set weighs in at 13.9oz per their website. If you are looking to save weight – you can remove the cups and use the space to store your stove instead, with the kettle weighing only 7.8oz by itself.
Field Use:
This kettle has been out on the trail multiple times now. Having made some hot coco when a surprise hailstorm hit in March, provided hot water to make coffee after a night spent next to a creek in Central Arizona, and has made heated up water for a mountain house on more than one trip. After all that, it still looks like new and has earned a spot in my kit.
Pros:
– Made of quality Stainless Steel that is durable and long lasting
– Stanley is a trusted name in the industry, having created cook wear and thermos since 1913
-Budget Friendly for those starting out or looking to spend less money on gear and more money on adventure
Cons:
Weight – This is not the lightest kit on the market, there are alternatives that weigh less (titanium, aluminum) but they are less durable and 3-5x the price
Included Cups – While the cups are nice, I prefer my GSI Backpacker Infinity mug, which does not nest. The included cups are a bit heavy and small, causing you to need a refill more often.
Summary:
For anyone looking to get started in car camping or backpacking and needing a budget friendly cook set that will not break the bank and last a lifetime, the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set is a perfect option that you can build upon as needed!
